Bohemia Interactive is an independent game development studio that focuses on developing state of the art computer entertainment software and the research of advanced real time 3D graphics, artificial intelligence and physical simulation technologies for real-time interactive environments.
 | In December 2001, Bohemia Interactive opened a studio in Australia and started the development of special military training simulation program VBS1 in cooperation with U.S. based Coalescent Technologies. VBS1 is already being used as a training tool by the U. S. Marine Corps. and various other military organizations are looking into possible implementation of VBS1 into their training programs. |

Following the release of Operation Flashpoint, the company finished Operation Flashpoint: Resistance, the official expansion pack to Operation Flashpoint. Resistance was released June 2002. |  |
 | November 2002 saw Operation Flashpoint: Game of the Year Edition released. It brought together the complete series including the original game "Cold War Crisis" and the expansions "Resistance" and Gold Upgrade/"Red Hammer". The Game Of The Year Edition comes fully loaded with every official upgrade, add-on and expansion, including all vehicles, weapons and extra campaigns released to date. |

 | VBS1 developers Bohemia Interactive Australia continue to build on the international acclaim received for their low-cost military training simulator VBS1 with the announcement of the development of VBS2. An early look at VBS2 was possible during ITSEC in December 2005. VBS2 is scheduled for release in Q4 2006. |

 | June 2006 was the five year anniversary of the original Flashpoint release. A press release containing new ArmA screenshots as well as a technology video was released as part of the anniversary celebrations. To date the Operation Flashpoint line of games has sold 2 million copies worldwide. |
In August 2006 the United States Marine Corps (USMC) purchased an enterprise license of Virtual Battlespace (VBS). The license provides an unlimited number of VBS1 and VBS2 licenses to the Marines for use in tactical training, mission rehearsal and experimentation. The decision by the USMC to purchase an enterprise license of VBS marks a milestone for the product and validation that the Real Virtuality engine remains one of the most flexible, extendable and cost-effective military simulation tools available today. |  |

Announced during E3 2005, Armed Assault (Arma) is currently in development by Bohemia Interactive Studio. Scheduled for a Q4 2006 release ArmA will reacquaint gamers with the ultimate in realistic, combat gaming.

Bohemia Interactive's research and development team has more than 35 experienced game developers. BIS are based in Prague, Czech Republic with development studios in the Czech Republic as well as Australia. Bohemia Interactive Studio won Best PC Game Developer of the year 2001 award at London’s exhibit ECTS and Rookie Studio of the Year award at GDC 2002.
